  • Ga Ha Ha Consignment. Mintage 2000, Honeycutt-321, Japanese "Jose Paciano Laurel" medal dated 1943 to commemorate appointment of Laurel as (puppet) President of the occupied Philippines. While out-of-favor for the obvious connotations to miserable conditions in the occupied island nation during World War II, these are avidly pursued in better condition by collectors. Though graded only MS-63, an acceptable quantity of hairlines sweeps over the surface and doesn't impede rather nice russet-bronze and brown hue overall.

  • Hammer: $12,250
  • Silver Dollar-Peace
  • 13 graded MS-66+, 8 higher at NGC. The mintage of a million pieces does little to describe why the 1921 is so common near basal mint-state grades yet profoundly scarce at the superb gem grade level, a grade for which this tremendously vigorous example clamors. The strike falls decidedly into the "better-than-average" category but as always for the high-relief 1921s, it is hopelessly incomplete at the centers. Adorable almond-yellow patina absolutely blossoms across both sides and takes full advantage of marvelous, satin-matte surfaces that are hardly ever disturbed by contact. Any abrasions found with a loupe prove to be minuscule and utterly innocuous to the eye-appeal.
