Gold $10-Liberty Head Eagle
Mintage: 42,500. Heavier abrasions thump the reverse while overall, both sides show a number of the bagmarks expected of the date. 1897-O is not actually rare despite the lower mintage, but certified mint-state examples prove difficult to find at PCGS. A glittering example with occasional greyish crumbles that suggest a non-cleaned surface.

A one-year type, this royalist issue features a relatively small rendition of Ferdinand VII on the obverse and the usual crown with pillars on the reverse.
