  • Lot #411 - 1873 Closed 3 NGC MS-62
  • Gold $5-Liberty Head Half Eagle
  • Cheddars de Voirs Collection. 23 graded MS-62, 8 higher at NGC. Impressively struck for an 1870s emission despite some light peripheral die cracks on the reverse. A condition rarity, as is much of the gold series from the 1860s and 1870s, time has been relatively kind to this very select example, replete with unconventionally attractive two-toned medium orange hue. Fleeting hairlines skate over slightly flashy fields, accounted for in the grade.

  • Hammer: $525
  • Silver Dollar-Peace
  • Scarcely discernible from each other, the MS-64 shows only two tiny obverse marks, but also one noticeable ding above the eagle's shoulder. Meanwhile, the MS-65 appears almost perfectly free from contact until one locates a shiny, sharp bagmark on the eagle's neck. Two coin lot.

  • Lot #307 - Native American Unsigned Squash Blossom
  • Hammer: $425
  • Jewelry-Silver
  • Circa 1960/1970, this sterling silver (tested, not marked) and turquoise squash blossom necklace features 10 blossoms set between seamed beads and an 8-stone Naja at the bottom. The design of the piece is mostly original with a slight twist on modernism. The turquoise used in the making appears to be from the Cripple Creek mine. Condition is very nice for its age with a vintage patina to the metal. Unsigned piece so tribal affiliation is unknown. Length 28”, 5.78 troy ounces.
