  • Lot #859 - 1937-D 3 Legged PCGS XF-45
  • Hammer: $900
  • Nickels-Buffalo
  • Stone-cold original and endowed with exquisite slate-grey patina, accented by deeper charcoal recesses that enhance apparent sharpness. The obverse appears to be unusually free from abrasion for a circulated coin, while a brief old pinscratch on the reverse joins a couple or so tiny marks. Overall, a drop-dead gorgeous example for the connoisseur!

  • Lot #875 - 1922 No D Strong Reverse PCGS AU-55
  • Hammer: $4,600
  • Small Cents-Lincoln, Wheat
  • FS-401, die pair 2. While unquestionably brown overall and showing modestly glossy texture, some lighting angles cause purple toning to erupt from the obverse, creating a near-dazzling appearance that seems about impossible for a circulated, brown cent. Three or so significant abrasions land on Lincoln's lower portrait but blend well into the vintage patina. Letters in TRUST are stronger than IN GOD WE -- diagnostic of the most coveted die-marriage for a "1922 plain" cent.
