Early United States mint sets are among the most difficult items to find in their original condition and packaging. There are five such issues here that includes a 1949, a 1951, a 1952, a 1954, and a 1957. Each of these are still in their original cardboard sleeves and envelopes as well. Morals And Liberty Collection. Kagin-3 (R.6). Formed in New York City, the firm of Norris, Gregg & Norris moved west to San Francisco following the discovery of gold at Sutter's Mill. They struck a five-dollar coin in Benicia City, a suburb of San Francisco, and these very rare coins are avidly sought by collectors today. NGC grades this reddish-gold five as MS-61, likely reflecting in part a rather weak strike as well as delicately hairlined fields.
