  • Lot #452 - 1839 Head of 1838 NGC AU-58
  • Gold $10-Liberty Head Eagle
  • 27 graded AU-58, 13 higher at NGC. 1839/8, large letters, and variously referred to as the "head of 1838". Marvelously sharp overall for an 1830s gold piece, even if the obverse stars display only minimal sharpness. Only limited cartwheel effect is able to project through light mustard-gold patina yet very little actual wear affects major details. Delicate marks fall across both sides, joined by a few mentionable light rim dings on the reverse.

  • Lot #723 - 1858 NGC MS-64 Star
  • Hammer: $2,300
  • Half Dollars-Liberty Seated
  • Impetus for the "star" becomes instantly apparent upon first view as bull's-eye album toning on the obverse and circumferential toning on the reverse are to die for. Outer rings of chartreuse-indigo, cobalt-cinnamon and champagne gold align exactly with the classic color progression expected. The coin also boasts an outstanding strike despite cracked dies, particularly for the reverse.

  • Here’s a unique jewelry piece featuring a center flower that trembles with every move the wearer makes. Known as an "En Tremblant," the center flower is wired to the base so that it can move freely. The piece can serve as either a pin or as a pendant and it holds four natural opals, small pearl accents and a larger pearl that dangles from the bottom. Dimensions 1.5” x 1.3”, 4.5 dwt.
