Early United States mint sets are among the most difficult items to find in their original condition and packaging. There are five such issues here that includes a 1949, a 1951, a 1952, a 1954, and a 1957. Each of these are still in their original cardboard sleeves and envelopes as well. Wispy and dusty tones cling to all of the surfaces of each issue within each set lending even further evidence to these particular set’s originality. Gold $20-Liberty Head Double Eagle
Denver began minting operations in 1906 with double-eagles a part of their inaugural emissions. Perhaps in anticipation of starting out on the right foot, these are typically well produced by the mint, and like this choice example, most display splendid silken luster that shimmers with dazzling vibrancy. Precise details endow both sides and the reverse seems particularly well preserved, falling closer to MS-64 than the obverse.
