  • Lot #313 - 1855 PCGS MS-61
  • Gold Dollars-Indian Princess Head, Small Head
  • Friction hairlines may derive from the coin sliding around in storage, perhaps within a Kraft envelope. Golden hue might seem a little bright for such an old coin.

  • Lot #753 - 1835 NGC MS-64
  • Hammer: $5,000
  • Quarter Dollars-Capped Bust
  • Browning-1, a common die-marriage for which the reverse die crack in the upper field may not be diagnostic, but it certainly narrows attribution down rapidly. A broad splash of cobalt iridescence spills over Liberty's portrait, reaching for the bright chartreuse-gold hues surrounding the stars. Magenta and Navy-blue powder the reverse with pleasing, vintage appeal. Utterly trivial contact marks appear to be all that defies gem expectations.
