The Walking Liberty half-dollar series is among the most popularly collected and difficult to complete collections within United States numismatics. This only becomes ever more difficult when attempting to fill it out with collector grade issues. Time and effort were clearly put into the building of this particular Dansco album collection that is complete from 1916 through 1947. Often found cut a little askew, this particularly bright example has been almost ideally centered and squared properly when viewed from either side, which means the back of the note is as appealing as the front. Signatures were stamped a little high but are as bold and deep black as can be. A "small tear" as called out by PMG only just barely requires mention because it technically touches a portion of the design (the border line) else it would escape notice. Not mentioned is a tiny dab of greenish residue positioned below the offending "tear" -- the cataloger speculates a staple may have been professionally removed from the edge at some point.
