  • Lot #902 - 1869/69 RPD FS-301 S-3 PCGS MS-65RB CAC
  • Small Cents-Indian Head
  • Bucky The Badger Consignment. 133 graded MS-65 RB, 15 higher at PCGS. Snow-3, FS-301 was once believed to represent a 9/8 overdate but that hypothesis has fallen out of favor as it is now believed to represent 1869/69, as spelled out on the sticker-happy PCGS slab. The obverse has mellowed only modestly away from the vintage copper-red hue while the reverse presents as at least 80% brown. Important to an issue considered difficult even without the added fame of the Snow variety, neither side carries noticeable evidence of carbon, and an impeccable strike brought about a four-diamond obverse.

  • Lot #665 - 1892-O PCGS MS-60 (rattler) GOLD CAC
  • Hammer: $675
  • Silver Dollar-Morgan
  • Lemonade Stand Collection. The gold sticker seems to imply that CAC considers this to grade at least MS-61 but the cataloger is perfectly satisfied with the near-basal mint-state grade due to several factors. Centers are really very soft and widely abraded although the fields are about on par with a higher graded silver dollar. All this being said, the quality is at least amplified a bit by vibrant luster.

  • Circa 1960/1970, this sterling silver (tested, not marked) and turquoise squash blossom necklace features 10 blossoms set between seamed beads and a 6-stone Naja at the bottom. The turquoise used in the making appears to be from the Cripple Creek mine. Condition is very nice for its age with a vintage patina to the metal. Unsigned piece so tribal affiliation is unknown. Length 23”, 5.31 troy ounces.
