Newcomb-6 (R.3), large stars, large letters, late die-state. Of the two die-states known, this high-gloss example plainly belongs at the end of the emission for N-8 given the circular obverse die-crack. Yet it may be interesting to EAC collectors to note the crack is not truly fully formed near the upper left obverse. Cataloger's grade: [XF/cleaned/recolored].

The McMinnville NB, McMinnville, Oregon. Apparently only the second 1882 brownback off of McMinnville, this also happens to be certified as problem-free, with heavy circulation taking its toll on three of the four edges. Decent brown signatures fade somewhat into the natural toning but are fully legible.
