Half Dollars-Draped Bust
Bachelor Simon Collection. Overton-109a R.3, a well-known die-state with extensive obverse die cracks from incessant clashing of the dies. The die-state can be instantly ascertained by noting the crack over the twelfth star. It is true that deep, nearly midnight coloration dominates the obverse, yet both sides exude strong luster, and the reverse displays obvious evidence of annulated album colors. Both sides display a remarkable degree of freedom from abrasions as the cataloger could find not even a single bagmark requiring attention.

Scott Laiter Collection. The Scotsman Cataloger's Choice Award seems fitting for a coin that may not be necessarily inexpensive, yet still can be easy to underestimate. In this particular instance, the cataloger cannot recall seeing another example that displays such an eye-catching amount of color compressed into such a tiny presentation, especially for a relatively mundane grade. Color runs the gamut of peach-green, sunset-yellow and lavender-orange mixed throughout. Further, quality seems at worst on-par with MS-64 as the surface reveals no singularly noticeable abrasions.

From the Running Bear Trading Group of Gallup, NM. here’s a signed sterling silver, turquoise and sand agate cuff bracelet. The turquoise appears to be from the Ithica Peak mine. Makers initials are J.S. for James Shay of the Navajo nation. This bracelet is in excellent condition. 1.88 troy ounces.
