Zee's Densities Collection. Impairments place a damper on this 3-dollar duo, but how often does one find an auction lot with two certified examples? Included are: 1854 (delicate hairlines subtly traverse the lower portrait, erasing a few contact marks), and 1874 (glittering brightly as is typical of previously edge-mounted examples). Small Cents-Indian Head
52 graded MS-66, 4 graded MS-66 "star", 10 higher at NGC. Technical excellence includes absolutely ideal coppery hue with a broad blush of lavender on the reverse, as well as an outstanding four-diamond strike. Not only is this one of the flat-out nicest examples the cataloger has seen in a while, the population report also spells out the dearth of nicer examples seen by NGC.
