Cheddars de Voirs Collection. A remarkable trio of California fractional gold, specifically 25-cent pieces, comprises this PCGS grouping. Included are: BG-727 (astonishingly high grade and blatantly prooflike), BG-728 (drenched in curiously lackluster greenish hue and unusually well struck), and BG-872 (rather outstanding citrus-gold on the obverse and lemon-yellow on the reverse with semi-prooflike reflectivity). Twenty Cents Pieces-Liberty Seated
Amazingly bright, lustrous and well struck, the silver-bright surface displays practically no toning, except for a trace of olive-burgundy down the left edge of Liberty's portrait. Although not rare in any except extreme high grades, the 1875-CC is always popular for the mintmark, this being a choice coin with a linear abrasion left of the portrait and a small cluster of marks at lower right of Liberty's foot.
