101st Airborne Collection. A group of Standing Liberty quarters was recently extracted from the consignor's Dansco collection, as all the other pieces are circulated. Included are: 1917-D type-2 (MS-62 and extremely original toning that looks much like mint-set patina), 1919 (UNC/FH but showing hazy surfaces), 1925 (Ch BU), 1926-D (UNC but not well struck and showing album color), and 1928 (Ch BU/FH and with attractive turquoise iridescence clinging to the devices. Incredibly original as if just plucked out of its tissue-paper environment, both sides offer charming orange-grey and almond patina. The MS-64/65 fence for the Sesquicentennial is always dependent upon how many abrasions land on the cheek, and in this case, that marvelous patina helps to subdue a handful of tiny nicks. An absolutely marvelous example.
