Cheddars de Voirs Collection. A remarkable trio of California fractional gold, specifically 25-cent pieces, comprises this PCGS grouping. Included are: BG-727 (astonishingly high grade and blatantly prooflike), BG-728 (drenched in curiously lackluster greenish hue and unusually well struck), and BG-872 (rather outstanding citrus-gold on the obverse and lemon-yellow on the reverse with semi-prooflike reflectivity). Luxurious pearl-grey and frosty chartreuse toward the upper periphery declare a fully original surface for the obverse, while the reverse simmers nicely beneath exquisite midnight-purple and violet hues. The coin appears to be exceptionally well struck and the only visible detriment is a small area of abrasions intruding into the obverse right field.
