  • Lot #672 - 1885-S PCGS MS-64
  • Hammer: $1,050
  • Silver Dollar-Morgan
  • Benjamin J. Collection. Consistently well-produced within the series, this 1885-S projects the usual outrageous luster and frosted brilliance often seen. A very good strike doesn't meet perfection, while the presence of only limited tiny abrasions allow the cheek to appear virtually immaculate at arm's length.

  • Hammer: $6,250
  • Territorial Gold-Territorial Gold
  • Morals And Liberty Collection. Kagin-18. While not rare, the 1853 Assay Office twenty always captures the imagination and demand of even peripherally interested collectors. Considerable luster remains present for this one, perhaps suggestive of the choice grade level. Perhaps a combination of heft and indifferent handling has created a situation whereby many seem to suffer nicks and bumps on edge, such anomalies professionally "corrected" at far right for this piece.
