Early United States mint sets are among the most difficult items to find in their original condition and packaging. There are five such issues here that includes a 1949, a 1951, a 1952, a 1954, and a 1957. Each of these are still in their original cardboard sleeves and envelopes as well. Wispy and dusty tones cling to all of the surfaces of each issue within each set lending even further evidence to these particular set’s originality. The gold sticker seems to imply that CAC considers this to grade at least MS-61 but the cataloger is perfectly satisfied with the near-basal mint-state grade due to several factors. Centers are really very soft and widely abraded although the fields are about on par with a higher graded silver dollar. All this being said, the quality is at least amplified a bit by vibrant luster.
