Early United States mint sets are among the most difficult items to find in their original condition and packaging. There are five such issues here that includes a 1949, a 1951, a 1952, a 1954, and a 1957. Each of these are still in their original cardboard sleeves and envelopes as well. Wispy and dusty tones cling to all of the surfaces of each issue within each set lending even further evidence to these particular set’s originality. Morals And Liberty Collection. Kagin-6a (R.5+). Though always weakly detailed, the central intricacies seem even flatter than usual for the type on the obverse, while the reverse seems a trifle sharper by comparison. More important, perhaps, the surface exhibits endearing carrot-gold hue that suggests a highly original surface. Trivial nicks in Liberty's central hair are the most obvious sign of contact, and the cataloger notes a shallow rim bump on the reverse at far right.
