  • Remarkably well struck surfaces drenched with satiny soft luster aptly describes all four examples within this NGC certified group lot of 2008-W burnished American Gold Eagles. There is a representative of each denomination including a $50 (1oz.), a $25 (1/2oz.), a $10 (1/4oz.), and a $5 (1/10oz.). All four issues were graded as MS-70 and deservedly so. The 1/2oz. and 1/4oz. issues are among the lowest mintages within their respective series (ck).

  • Flat-out gorgeous for VF-35, the assigned grade seems ten points too low as viewed from the front. The back does display exactly the amount of creasing that requires a VF grade, yet this remains a highly attractive five.
