Large Cents-Draped Bust
Sheldon-266, die-state IV, the 1804 date obviously a key and even more elusive due to how many collectors pursue S-266 by die-state. For this bold example, rim breaks show plainly over RTY and MERIC. Dies are rotated by about 20 degrees for a coin that makes the cataloger's grade of [XF/corrosion removed], and the surface has been rather nicely recolored with chestnut-brown patina that has olive inflections on the reverse.

52 graded MS-66, 4 graded MS-66 "star", 10 higher at NGC. Technical excellence includes absolutely ideal coppery hue with a broad blush of lavender on the reverse, as well as an outstanding four-diamond strike. Not only is this one of the flat-out nicest examples the cataloger has seen in a while, the population report also spells out the dearth of nicer examples seen by NGC.

Lot #307 - Native American Unsigned Squash Blossom

Circa 1960/1970, this sterling silver (tested, not marked) and turquoise squash blossom necklace features 10 blossoms set between seamed beads and an 8-stone Naja at the bottom. The design of the piece is mostly original with a slight twist on modernism. The turquoise used in the making appears to be from the Cripple Creek mine. Condition is very nice for its age with a vintage patina to the metal. Unsigned piece so tribal affiliation is unknown. Length 28”, 5.78 troy ounces.
