  • Lot #870 - 1799 PCGS G-4
  • Large Cents-Draped Bust
  • Elm Then Almond Collection. Sheldon-189, a famously near-impossible key date to get straight-graded at any major grading service. Contrary to many low-grade pieces that have either a weak date or LIBERTY, this example features a nicely bold date, and LIBERTY has partial weakness only at the upper third of each letter. The coin was struck off of early dies, showing a small die chip between "E" of ONE and "T" of CENT -- a worthy diagnostic as to authenticity. An amazingly nice surface for the grade given the utter lack of environmental effects aside from normal circulation.

  • Lot #715 - 1809 III Edge O-109a PCGS AU-55
  • Hammer: $1,800
  • Half Dollars-Capped Bust, Lettered Edge
  • Overton-109a can be quickly attributed by noting a heavy die crack through AMERICA, diagnostic also of the die-state. The borders for this dynamic, near mint example feature highly attractive album toning painted in lavender-orange, russet-gold and ocean-blue colors. Substantial luster dominates the fields but as expected, it disappears within the widest expanses due to finger wear. The cataloger notes a few unimportant pinscratches over the eagle's beak and a trio of minor linear abrasions in front of the portrait.

  • Hammer: $650
  • Jewelry-Earrings
  • These 18K yellow gold Ippolita hoop earrings are the perfect statement earring while doubling as a great everyday hoop! They are a crescent shape with a hammered gold appearance. The design, while wide, is hollow so it is very light weight on the ear and are finished with a post and earring back. Dimensions 1.9” x 1.9”, 5.6dwt.
