Gold $20-Saint-Gaudens Double Eagle
Faint rub suggests a borderline AU-58/MS-60 grade but without diminishing incredible detailing in the slightest. The wire edge rim typically sees less effects from contact than so-called "knife edge" examples but perhaps improper storage led to undue abrading of the edge of this all-time favorite.

A peculiar vapor-grey fog nearly engulfs both sides. A pattern of lines is faintly visible on Liberty’s face, possibly a result of being pressed against canvas or paper for years. Smokiness stronger on the obverse, the reverse gives way to more complexion; inner melon greens mix into sunset hues near rim.
