  • Lot #69 - Mexico - 1757/60-Mo MM 8 reales - NGC MS-61
  • World Coins-Mexico
  • KM#104.2, Mexico City mint, Ferdinand VI. 1 graded MS-62, zero finer at either service, making this the probably finest known example of the popular overdate. Hairline scratches scribbled into the obverse far right field (undoubtedly limiting the grade) are fortuitously toned into this album survivor that also boasts subdued, peripheral rainbow toning.

  • Scott Laiter Collection. Mintage: 1500. 39 graded MS-61, 72 higher at NGC. With a minuscule commercial emission plus 76 proof strikings, one need not wonder why the 1882 tends to be beautifully produced, exemplified by the somewhat semi-prooflike qualities seen here. Bag storage may have imparted friction across the highpoints and into the fields yet one can readily see flashy texture protected between peripheral letters. Powerfully struck and showing richer orange accents against copper-golden hue.
