Silver Dollar-Morgan
Erasmus Rally Collection. Mottled silver-grey and russet iridescence washes broadly over the obverse while the reverse shows subtle golden hue on the letters over shimmering silver-white overall. While PCGS gave no designation, this key clearly shows semi-prooflike character, yet a closer look finds quite soft central definition on both sides, the strike unable to eliminate lengthy planchet striae raining down the portrait.

Obviously, a star note is intended to replace an original that fails quality standards at the BEP, often due to printing errors. Ironically, this star note itself features a major error in that the front design has been thinly transferred to the back through an offset error. An outstanding and memorable example.

Both watches are 23 Jewel and 16 size. A. Hamilton Railway Special 950B movement. Inside the movement has S22820 stamped on a lower part. Engraved on the outside back is “M.L. Jameson”. Average condition case and crystal. Winds, sets and runs. B. Ball Official RR Standard Cleveland on face. Movement # B800462. Watch has some trouble setting and winding.
