  • Lot #876 - 1814 Crosslet 4 XF
  • Large Cents-Classic Head
  • Cochrane Gambit Consignment. Sheldon-294, crosslet 4, early dies. A remarkably sharp strike invoked pinpoint accurate details from the dies, with denticles that would have been fully delineated if not for a slightly off-center presentation. Several small nicks on and in front of the neck are of no problematic consequence at the cataloger's grade [XF/altered surface], but observers will note an unusually low-contrast, ultra-fine matte surface on both sides. An unexpectedly appealing classic head example despite any potential modest faults.

  • Jewelry-Silver
  • Circa 1960/1970, this sterling silver (tested, not marked) and turquoise squash blossom necklace features 10 blossoms set between seamed beads and an 8-stone Naja at the bottom. The design of the piece is mostly original with a slight twist on modernism. The turquoise used in the making appears to be from the Cripple Creek mine. Condition is very nice for its age with a vintage patina to the metal. Unsigned piece so tribal affiliation is unknown. Length 28”, 5.78 troy ounces.
