Gold $20-Liberty Head Double Eagle
49 graded AU-58, 27 higher at PCGS. A single reed mark on the cheek provides by far the most obvious sign of contact since the balance of either side remains unexpectedly free from marks -- remarkable for the issue. Much like the preceding 1851-O, these early New Orleans issues are not extremely rare within the AU grades but become virtually impossible to locate in UNC.

Clem Stevens Collection. Sparkling examples only mean that this trio will appeal to collectors who place high value on eye-appeal. Included are: 1883 "no cents" (surprising cameo despite slightly cracked dies and a very good obverse strike), 1889 (tremendous luster and detailing and not at all prooflike as are many of this date), and 1902 (slight obverse cameo against virtually no contrast on the reverse, all wrapped up in a glassy, pristine package). Three coin lot.

I have to admit, this one won’t be everyone’s cup of tea but you will have to admit that it’s pretty darn cool! The center has a precious orangey marquise coral cabochon. There is a freeform, bezel set fossilized ammonite stone and the piece is completed with a elongated cabochon identified as rutilated quartz. None of the stones have indications of polymers or dyes, Stone Group Laboratories report #240827R-SJ. This piece has a pin on the back and also opens so it can be added to chain. Dimensions 4" x 1.5", 26.2 dwt.
