101st Airborne Collection. A group of Standing Liberty quarters was recently extracted from the consignor's Dansco collection, as all the other pieces are circulated. Included are: 1917-D type-2 (MS-62 and extremely original toning that looks much like mint-set patina), 1919 (UNC/FH but showing hazy surfaces), 1925 (Ch BU), 1926-D (UNC but not well struck and showing album color), and 1928 (Ch BU/FH and with attractive turquoise iridescence clinging to the devices. A very reasonable strike goes beyond expectations for a date often found weak. New Orleans drastically cut production during 1893 to 1895 and churned out indifferently struck dollars. This one is above average in almost every regard except for the number of tiny abrasions that, in aggregate, limit the grade.
