Gold $2.50-Capped Bust to Right Quarter Eagle
Bass-Dannreuther-1 (R.4), the purported overdated obverse that has a small diagonal defect within the loop of the "2", and which was mated to three different reverses. This is considered the "common" die pairing for 1802 although obviously, no 1802 quarter-eagle is really common, especially with such prodigious detailing. PCGS correctly calls out cleaning, but the effect is far from disastrous for this rather decent looking early gold type.

The 1885 is one of those key dates that seems highly available in low grades (think AG to VG), locatable in high grade (Choice BU and up), but about impossible to find in grades between those two extremes. Along comes this ideally graded AU-50 that boasts absolutely extraordinary, vintage medium-grey color and fair luster that should combine to push the high bids to the upper limit for the grade. Smoothly worn and unquestionably problem-free, the coin even benefits from a nice, small die chip on "D" of UNITED to create even more interest.

From the Running Bear Trading Group of Gallup, NM. here’s a signed sterling silver, turquoise and sand agate cuff bracelet. The turquoise appears to be from the Ithica Peak mine. Makers initials are J.S. for James Shay of the Navajo nation. This bracelet is in excellent condition. 1.88 troy ounces.
