While unquestionably brown overall and showing modestly glossy texture, some lighting angles cause purple toning to erupt from the obverse, creating a near-dazzling appearance that seems about impossible for a circulated, brown cent. Three or so significant abrasions land on Lincoln's lower portrait but blend well into the vintage patina. Letters in TRUST are stronger than IN GOD WE -- diagnostic of the most coveted die-marriage for a "1922 plain" cent.
