More available than the "large date" logotype but still hardly common given the mintage of under 60-thousand pieces. The pale, lackluster surface displays a thin coating of haze that helps subdue any potential remaining luster. Strike quality seems to be about as nice as is ever seen for 1842-D.

Intense, vintage luster swirls and twirls around both sides, shimmering over mark-free surfaces.
