Half Dollars-Barber
Bravery Consignment. 4 graded PR-65 CAM, 18 higher at PCGS. An arresting gem proof, the surface displays a thin veneer of copper-gold that in no way diminishes obvious cameo contrast. Uncommon for later-date Barber proofs, the reverse shows no weakness whatsoever, not even at the juncture of the eagle's left (observed) wing. A few trivial hairlines sprint across the fields and play a minor role in the gem grade assessment.

Robert Michaels Collection. Extremely bright and aluminum-white, the 1862 appears almost cameo on the reverse, the entire surface absolutely blazing with mark-free appeal. The 1865 displays a number of tiny greyish dots on either side which may help determine the grade. Two coin lot.

There is a 6.29 ct. oval heat-treated Thai sapphire measuring 11.3x9.97x6.51mm in the center of a flowery halo with a radiating royal blue color that is highlighted perfectly with 11 round brilliant diamonds weighing an estimated 1.20 cttw, VS clarity, I color. The ring is marked 90% on the inside and holds up to the 18K acid test. Ring size 6.5, 5.3 dwt.
