101st Airborne Collection. A group of Standing Liberty quarters was recently extracted from the consignor's Dansco collection, as all the other pieces are circulated. Included are: 1917-D type-2 (MS-62 and extremely original toning that looks much like mint-set patina), 1919 (UNC/FH but showing hazy surfaces), 1925 (Ch BU), 1926-D (UNC but not well struck and showing album color), and 1928 (Ch BU/FH and with attractive turquoise iridescence clinging to the devices. 16 graded PR-65 CAM, 1 graded PR-65 CAM "star", 41 higher at NGC. Frothy motifs also show swirling die polish lines that blend in nicely with overall texture. Intriguing apricot-gold color melts over most of the surface, offset by a broad, curious aqua-blue lozenge at lower right. Trivia hairlines within the fields must be searched for.
