Half Dollars-Flowing Hair
Bachelor Simon Collection. Overton-110. Evidence of cracks on either side had not yet occurred when this splendidly detailed example fell off the minting press in the first half of 1795 when all flowing-hair examples were struck, but faint clash marks have already formed above the eagle's shoulder. For type collectors familiar with the challenges of finding a nice 1795, this example features boldly raised rims and dentilation, pleasantly original surface color and adjustment marks limited strictly to the very upper right reverse. A brief pinscratch left of the date blended into the patina decades ago and offers no distraction from steady eye-appeal.

Included are: 1938 (decent strike and just trivially abraded down the torso), 1945-D (delicate pinscratch abrasion at obverse right is nearly invisible without a strong loupe), and 1945-S (an average strike that glows with pronounced frosted texture).
