101st Airborne Collection. A group of Standing Liberty quarters was recently extracted from the consignor's Dansco collection, as all the other pieces are circulated. Included are: 1917-D type-2 (MS-62 and extremely original toning that looks much like mint-set patina), 1919 (UNC/FH but showing hazy surfaces), 1925 (Ch BU), 1926-D (UNC but not well struck and showing album color), and 1928 (Ch BU/FH and with attractive turquoise iridescence clinging to the devices. Mild friction in the fields indicates light wear overall, while protected areas retain ample energy. Even at arm's length, both sides revolve nicely with cartwheel effect, especially the reverse. While 1890-CC frequently comes heavily abraded, this appears to be a nicer, less noisy example that does nothing but please the eye at the AU-50 grade.

The center diamond measures 15x7.9x4.9 (limited to measuring in the mounting) and is estimated to weigh 3.50 ct., SI1 clarity, Bluish Green color, Stone Groups Laboratories Report # 240418A-SJ. There are four small round diamond accents on the side weighing approximately .15 cttw, SI clarity, H color. ring size 8, 5.0 dwt.
