Cheddars de Voirs Collection. A remarkable trio of California fractional gold, specifically 25-cent pieces, comprises this PCGS grouping. Included are: BG-727 (astonishingly high grade and blatantly prooflike), BG-728 (drenched in curiously lackluster greenish hue and unusually well struck), and BG-872 (rather outstanding citrus-gold on the obverse and lemon-yellow on the reverse with semi-prooflike reflectivity). Rather decent for MS-63, some steely lavender-grey carpets the obverse, while honey-beige predominates on the reverse. Both sides appear to have mildly reflective fields as could befit an earlier strike. Trivially marked by coin-to-coin contact that does nothing to detract in the grand scheme.
