PMG has wisely graded this sheet as Gum Uncirculated 65 EPQ. It is worth mentioning that the serial numbers range from A000007 through A000012 and that the Charter number is #31. 45 graded MS-66, 5 higher (all MS-67) at NGC. 1910-D seems to be the most common mint-state date for the marvelous Indian gold eagle series but very-gem examples are astoundingly rare for such a high mintage of 2.3-milllion. This is an almost incredible example, replete with superb satin texture that remains virtually undisturbed by contact from other coins. An extremely faint nuance of lavender toning emerges from the obverse central area but overall, the coin appears pure orange-gold, as if it just fell into a mint bag three minutes ago. Careful scrutiny utterly fails to reveal any of the tiny copper impurities or grease marks sometimes found for the date.
