Benjamin J. Collection. VAM-3, popular for both a doubled-die obverse and reverse. Nothing impairs the vivid luster of this obviously-choice example, although frosted areas receive some bag abrasions on the cheek and potentially slidemarks on the neck. A rather amazingly well-preserved reverse actually looks MS-66(!), elevating overall appeal of this well-liked semi-key date.

Fully lustrous, neither side displays any of the mirrored character seen for some 1879-CC dollars, although a highly accurate, nearly perfect strike adds to the technical appeal. Peripheral toning enhances the obverse with mostly orange hue, along with a brief flash of cobalt at upper left. Noticeable scraping on the neck gets joined by only trivial additional bagmarks to account for all grade-limiting factors.

Set in 18K white gold, this stunning drop necklace features round irradiated blue diamond’s weighing approximately 3.00 cttw, I1 clarity, as well as white round diamonds weighing approximately 3.50 cttw, SI1-I1 clarity, H-I color. A hanging star inspired design and bezel set diamonds attached to a diamond cut beaded style chain finishes off the necklace. Length 17.5”, 14.7 dwt.
