Recognized as a grade-rarity with hardly any UNC examples known, this borderline-UNC coin further surprises potential bidders with a much better strike than expected, featuring virtually fully realized wing feathers and excellent dentilation all around both sides.

Mastodon Collection. KM#120, Mexico City mint, 0.0952 oz. Slightly flashy and sharp, the quality lays every claim to the choice grade level. Though occasionally found somewhat semi-prooflike, this pleasing little beauty has become bathed in shimmering luster after a very good strike. Higher grade examples seen by the cataloger all seem to have been taken off of repolished, previously rusted dies that created peculiarly dimpled texture over the upper and lower portrait.
