Collector Lots-Gold Type
Zee's Densities Collection. Tougher classic head gold coins offer type possibilities despite some PCGS disclaimers. First is an 1834 quarter eagle that shows upper rim anomalies suggesting a prior mount for jewelry use, and for sure, the surface glitters as if such was the case. Accompanying is an 1835 half eagle, both sides a little glossy and showing errant rim filing at the very bottom of the obverse. Two coin lot.

The obverse shows no evidence of commonly seen clash marks while a partial outline of Liberty's portrait inverted on the reverse proves the dies were clashed at some point prior to striking. Acceptable yet slightly heavy grey toning predominates, surrounded by olive- grey accents.

Recovered from the sunken Spanish galleon, the Santa Margarita this 8 Reale coin of Philip III is set into a 14K and sterling silver bezel. The bezel features a scene of a dolphin and a patch of seaweed. This does come with a certificate of authenticity from Mel Fishers’s Treasures, LLC. with a grade of four.
