Early United States mint sets are among the most difficult items to find in their original condition and packaging. There are five such issues here that includes a 1949, a 1951, a 1952, a 1954, and a 1957. Each of these are still in their original cardboard sleeves and envelopes as well. Wispy and dusty tones cling to all of the surfaces of each issue within each set lending even further evidence to these particular set’s originality. Clem Stevens Collection. VAM-5A, and as usual, being able to narrow down the VAM assures authenticity, aside from the obvious fact that NGC has certified this crucial key date silver dollar. Despite not garnering a mint-state grade, it truly appears the texture within the fields is unbroken by friction or circulation marks, but not so on the cheek where faint rub lingers. In addition, a small number of circulation marks also pepper the cheek. While not the most valuable Morgan dollar, this is a well struck example of one of the most popular dates.
