  • Lot #885 - 1825 CACG AU-55BN
  • Large Cents-Liberty Head
  • Newcomb-6 (R.3), readily identifiable by doubling of BER_Y as well as CENT being spelled with progressively lower oriented characters. Careful brushing of the surface in the past has allowed attractive partial luster to be revealed over the mahogany-grey and reddish brown surface, disturbed by only the faintest amount of pinscratch effect on the lower reverse.

  • Lot #417 - 1883 PCGS MS-64
  • Hammer: $10,000
  • Gold $3-Indian Princess Head
  • 23 graded MS-64, 8 higher at PCGS. A very low mintage of 900 pieces explains why so many 1883s are prooflike, although the present example displays mostly typical luster with hints of flashy texture throughout the fields. Strangely, about half of examples seen tend to be mint-state, although few approach gem status. A sharp strike points to minimally used dies, such that even the lower curls of the hair are rather distinctly separated. Stray marks favor the right field just slightly even while overall, this coin managed to evade most of the bagmarks that often plague other issues within the series.

  • Here’s a unique jewelry piece featuring a center flower that trembles with every move the wearer makes. Known as an "En Tremblant," the center flower is wired to the base so that it can move freely. The piece can serve as either a pin or as a pendant and it holds four natural opals, small pearl accents and a larger pearl that dangles from the bottom. Dimensions 1.5” x 1.3”, 4.5 dwt.
