Inland Delude Collection. Mintage: 16,000. Well-known as an extremely difficult date within the series, the allure of this heavily worn example will be particularly strong for low-ball set collectors who should be able to get it certified right off. IN GOD WE TRUST barely shows only the lower parts of the letters while the date remains plain. Better sharpness shows on the reverse, as is typical for work shield nickels.

Included are: 1911-S (struck with unexpected sharpness and slightly glossy over bold luster), and 1913-D (remarkable purplish over tones swirl over about two-thirds of the obverse and a quarter of the reverse). The gemstone is copper and manganese bearing which may be called “Paraiba” in the trade and has a beautiful electric greenish-blue color. Length 18”, 1.1 dwt.
