101st Airborne Collection. A group of Standing Liberty quarters was recently extracted from the consignor's Dansco collection, as all the other pieces are circulated. Included are: 1917-D type-2 (MS-62 and extremely original toning that looks much like mint-set patina), 1919 (UNC/FH but showing hazy surfaces), 1925 (Ch BU), 1926-D (UNC but not well struck and showing album color), and 1928 (Ch BU/FH and with attractive turquoise iridescence clinging to the devices. VAM-8, far date. A die chip within the lower loop of "9" readily identifies this older VAM. A very well struck example, the reverse looks gem-plus all by itself while some faint roll abrading in the obverse left field may have prevented PCGS from going all the way to sixty-five. Essentially white with subtle, yellowish rim toning.
