  • Lot #80 - Mexico - 1861-OA FR Large Eagle of 1861-1862 8 reales - NGC AU-55
  • World Coins-Mexico
  • KM#377.11, Oaxaca mint. This 1861 sees use of the large eagle seen only examples of 1861-2. Lettering appears crude and uneven, yet the coin received a very good strike from these rare dies. Shimmering with off-white and greyish patina that helps subdue a few trivial hairline abrasions.

  • Lot #518 - 1890-CC NGC AU-55
  • Hammer: $4,100
  • Gold $20-Liberty Head Double Eagle
  • Scott Laiter Collection. While sometimes found prooflike, this is a fully frosted and impressively preserved Carson City that yields all of the appearance of mint-state, right down to flowline effect all the way through the fields -- admittedly diminished just barely by touch friction. In years past, this coin was undoubtedly sold as UNC. Telltale signs of wear, if one is being honest, include a small, visibly worn spot on Liberty's cheek and exceedingly faint butterscotch accents on the highest raised portion of several hair strands. While many marks spill across both sides, most appear to be bagmarks, joined by very little evidence of circulation contact.

  • Lot #246 - 14K White Gold Vintage Watch
  • Hammer: $1,900
  • Jewelry-Watches
  • Although this peice may not tell the time anymore, this spectacular vintage watch could definitely be worn as a bracelet! The petite piece features an approximate .50 ct. square emerald cut on either side, SI clarity, H color with another estimated 1.25 cttw in single cut and European cut round diamonds, SI clarity, H-I color. The diamonds are accompanied by royal blue synthetic French cut sapphires and what appear to be natural rectangular blue sapphires. There is a safety chain that runs from the watch to the clasp on either side. Length 6”, 16.7 dwt.
