Early United States mint sets are among the most difficult items to find in their original condition and packaging. There are five such issues here that includes a 1949, a 1951, a 1952, a 1954, and a 1957. Each of these are still in their original cardboard sleeves and envelopes as well. Wispy and dusty tones cling to all of the surfaces of each issue within each set lending even further evidence to these particular set’s originality. Lot #587 - 1872 Blundered Date Breen-5491 NGC MS-62

Silver Dollar-Liberty Seated
Breen-5491, Osburn-Cushing-3, blundered date obverse. A tiny remnant of a blundered digit shows immediately above "2" in the date, quickly denoting what is a rather common yet highly popular variety within the series. This happens to be a handsome example as well at just MS-62, exhibiting gorgeous luster and apricot-grey patina. The reverse all by itself might well grade MS-64 but random, trivial abrasions on the obverse spill over just enough to limit the grade.
