Small Cents-Lincoln, Wheat
Feeble luster places this key cent right on the cusp of mint-state, energized by subtle orange beneath mahogany-brown patina. An exceptional strike brought up individually sculpted curls for Lincoln's portrait. Of interest is a small rim break at the extreme right side of the reverse.

Well preserved surfaces are delicately swathed in steamy patina, which itself yields to rather exceptional toning on both sides, but especially the obverse. Here, fiery crimson-gold and chartreuse colors encircle a bright silver-blue oval over the Indian's portrait, while on the reverse, Arctic-blue and magenta-peach blend together. Remnants of a fingerprint beneath the bison's head may be limiting the technical grade, but the aesthetics would be difficult to beat at the gem grade level.
