Lot #270 - Two 1970 no "S" dime Proof Sets
Collector Lots-Proof Sets
Wry Legals Consignment. The 1970 No S Roosevelt dime was the second such example of this series to be accidentally struck without an “S” mint mark. There are believed to be fewer than 500 of these mistakes in existence making this 1970 “No S” proof sets rather scarce. All five examples within both of these sets are in Gem proof condition with the Kennedy half-dollars offering a slightly hazy toning theme. One of these Roosevelt dimes is a truly Gem example free from any distractions while the other is a Gem example but does have a few spots of toning on the obverse side (ck).

Dimes-Capped Bust
A pair of bust dimes offer pleasant strikes and generally acceptable appearance. First is1823/2, likely dipped in the distant past and now showing some orange-gold hue against the rims as well as a surprising burst of luster given the XF-40 grade. Lavender-grey entirely layers over the accompanying 1835, both sides benefiting from an above-average strike but also lacking luster overall. Two coin lot.

This cool cocktail ring has an 8mm pink star sapphire (minor abrasions and imperfections on the surface of the stone) with a halo of round diamonds as well as a shield cut and bullet baguette on the side. Altogether the diamonds weigh an estimated 1.00 cttw, SI clarity, J-L color. Ring size 7, 6.2 dwt.
