Early United States mint sets are among the most difficult items to find in their original condition and packaging. There are five such issues here that includes a 1949, a 1951, a 1952, a 1954, and a 1957. Each of these are still in their original cardboard sleeves and envelopes as well. Wispy and dusty tones cling to all of the surfaces of each issue within each set lending even further evidence to these particular set’s originality. Pale pewter-grey layers nice and even over the whole surface, accented on high relief areas by a smidge of butterscotch. Conforming with the assigned grade, neither side clings to any meaningful luster although persistent searching will find isolated areas of frosty flowline texture inside some peripheral letters. Virtually all of the eagle's feathers are individually sculpted while Liberty's hair still shows significant bold details. One of this key's best characteristics, especially for the amount of wear, is the lack of major abrasions.

This 18K pocket watch has a beautiful movement marked “E.KOEN, GENEVE, No 77628”. Unfortunately, the chiming mechanism doesn't seem to work. On the inside lid it is engraved “Fr. Stanley Goodwin, Christmas 1891, H.R. EKEGREN GENEVA” and the outside back lid has a fancy monogram of “C.H.S.” Winds, sets and runs. 72.9 dwt.
