The Trade silver dollar is among the shortest-lived series of coins to ever be issued by the United States Mint and that creates a supply shortage that is easily noticed by any collector of the type. There are nine examples of this short-lived series in this group lot that includes the following: an 1876 (AU details, cleaned), 4x 1877 (XF), 3x 1877-S (XF details, cleaned), and an 1878-S (F). Lot #779 - 1884 NGC PR-65 CAMEO

13 graded PR-65 CAM, 1 graded PR-65 CAM "star", 47 higher at NGC. Bone white and struck with the extreme precision one expects. A low mintage of 875 pieces seems to have survived in poor quantities are gem-and-better examples are difficult to locate. Outstanding mirrors here might have been impetus for an ULTRA designation but the contrast is not as vivid as seen for true early strikes.
